Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh, my! With news last week from Japan including an earthquake, a tsunami & a near nuclear meltdown, Dorothy’s trials and tribulations don’t really look so bad after all.
Throughout her very scary dream in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, all Dorothy wants to do is to go home. In most cases when things get a little hectic, we do get to go to that private nurturing space that we call home.
Whenever I get some down time, one of my favorite things to do is tune into HGTV for home design inspiration. I recently caught an episode of Sarah’s House, a design oriented series from Canada. I like how they show the realistic side of renovation, complete with all the things that can go wrong (and they do!)
On the March 4th episode, Sarah and her side-kick Tommy renovate a baby nursery and home office in a mid-century home. Despite all the blunders, the final product is always stunning, as was the gorgeous gender neutral nursery they did on this episode.
You can view Sarah Richardson’s nursery pictures on Project Nursery, a cool site “that has evolved into a leading resource dedicated to baby’s 1st room & beyond”.
Inspire your heart with the beautiful baby rooms on the daily Project Nursery blog. Do some reading on baby proofing your home. Bring your crib quilt selection into the local paint store to inspire your wall paint choices.
Enjoy defining the tranquil space that you are creating for your special little one. It will provide you and them with a dedicated environment to grow and to share your love. Treasure it and your time together.
